Mother's Day

Nate and Franny spent the night at Jeff’s and had breakfast with us. Jeff was a great host and got breakfast ready for everyone. After they left we cleaned up and went to Church. The series is on common questions and concerns that non-Christians pose. This sermon was on people that say “The world would be better without any organized religion.” He stated lot’s of instances when religion was the cause of something horrible. The conclusion was pretty obvious- you can’t generalize- for example: just because some Moms murder there children doesn’t mean that mom’s are inherently evil (just because somethings have been done in the name of religion that are evil doesn’t mean that religion is evil.) Although the overall point was obvious the pastor made several interesting points. There was a special offering for an organization that helps single mothers since it was Mother’s Day which I thought was neat. We stuck around a little bit after the sermon and chatted and had snacks. We went for a short run and then over to the Crawford’s for dinner. There were a ton of them. All 7 brothers and there families and then both grandma’s and Aunt Cindy (Mrs. C’s sister) were there. They were grilling burgers and dogs. My favorite was just the appetizers though I liked the shrimp cocktail, spinach dip in a bread bowl, fruit salad, and Big B’s vanilla latte. We watched some of the Redwings game. I wished I could have stuck around longer but I had to go catch my train back to Chicago!
