Ann Arbor
The next morning I woke up around 8:30 and Jeff was making breakfast. He made blueberry pancakes, and eggs with potatoes and salsa. It was very good. I was impressed...nice work Jeff : ) After that we took some bikes and cruised around downtown Ann Arbor. Our first stop was a coffee shop. We read the news and chatted and felt like old people. The next stop was the farmers market. We didn’t buy anything but enjoyed the atmosphere and felt like Hippies. Next we went to a shoe store that sells shoes for the medical profession. There are special shoes that are for people that stand on there feet all day. He didn’t end up getting them because they were 130 dollars so he wanted to think about it. As we were biking home we saw a sidewalk stand that had crocks for 5 dollars. I wanted some. I found some in my size but they had gotten dirty outside. I went in to see if they had some more. It ended up that only the little kids ones were 5 dollars and the adults that were dirty were 10 and the packaged ones were 15. I think I must have looked really disappointed because he said “okay okay, you can have the new ones for 5.” I was super excided about this. They are kind of marbled light pink and white. They will be perfect for kayaking or camping. After we got back we went for a short 3 mile run to get ready for the race the next morning and then headed over to packet pickup. After packed pick up we met 5 other med students that were doing the half marathon for dinner at Olive Garden. We all had a lot of pasta and bread sticks. Most of the other students were M2’s instead of M3’s. One of the girls did her undergrad at UW! After dinner Jeff and I went over to Nate’s (fellow med student, and runner- have spent time with him several times). We watched the Redwing game there. Detroit got really lucky. They won the game but didn’t outplay the other team. By the time the game was over it was after 11PM so we went home and went right to sleep.
